Every so often, those who love the civic life that once we walk the paths of political idealism, we have the opportunity to thrill us with a historic event. Today was one of those days, today the breeze of peace, triumphed over the winds of war.
I am aware that a war scenario between American brothers would not be possible. In military matters, Ecuador under any circumstances could not unleash a war against Colombia, on the other hand, Chavez knows that any attempt of aggression against Colombia would be the perfect excuse for the U.S. to put your hands in the matter. None of the players, now we are improvised masking. None of them went to the Dominican Republic to seek a war. But There are other scenarios where the bullets are transformed into words, and general civil men. Where the symphonies of speeches are mounted to a wide audience, with moments of tension, percussion, then relax and violins, finishing with thunderous applause from an audience up and excited.
But the reason should be the side to such events, I prefer to think that people of good will came together to save lives and prevent the shedding of American blood. I prefer to think that we danto the right steps, than anywhere else in the world, these words and crosses have been tortuous years of conflict, and all those sins that weapons back. That the struggles of egos take precedence over reason and the dark lords of war from the shadows would smile when they see their plots succeed.
Today I am proud, today I feel that Latin America has a future.
